Ingredients

Tea

  • 2 Pinches Fennel
    dried
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Ginger
    2-3 slices
  • 3 Cardamom
    Green Cardamom Pods
  • 1 Tsp White Sugar
    1 Tsp per cup
  • 2 Cups Milk
    Warm. Same quantity as water
  • 2 Black Teabags
    Preferred brand: Taj Mahal
  • 2 Cups Water
Sanchi's Masala Chai

Method

In a small pot

  • 2 Pinches Fennel
    dried
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh Ginger
    2-3 slices
  • 3 Cardamom
    Green Cardamom Pods
  • 2 Cups Water

Bring water to a boil. Then, add whole spices and boil for 1-2 minutes.

Add to pot

  • 2 Black Teabags
    Preferred brand: Taj Mahal

Add the teabags and boil for another 1-2 minutes.

Add to pot

  • 1 Tsp White Sugar
    1 Tsp per cup
  • 2 Cups Milk
    Warm. Same quantity as water

Add milk and sugar, and bring to a boil 2-3 times. Take pot off the heat between boils.

Strain into teacups and serve with your favourite snacks.
