Ingredients
Cake
- 1 Cup White Sugar
- ⅔ Cups Vegetable Oil
or 2/3 oil and 1/3 applesauce - 4 Eggs
- ½ Cups Apple Juice
or orange juice - 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
- ½ Tsp Fine Salt
- 5 Apples
peeled, cored, and chopped
Topping
- ⅔ Cups White Sugar
- 1½ Tsp Cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350ºF . Grease a 9" x 13" pan.
In a small bowl
- ⅔ Cups White Sugar
- 1½ Tsp Cinnamon

Combine the sugar and cinnamon for the topping; set aside.
- 1 Cup White Sugar
- ⅔ Cups Vegetable Oil
or 2/3 oil and 1/3 applesauce - 4 Eggs
- ½ Cups Apple Juice
or orange juice - 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
- ½ Tsp Fine Salt
- 5 Apples
peeled, cored, and chopped

Beat the first 5 cake ingredients in a large bowl. Combine the dry ingredients and add to this mixture to form a batter.
Spread half of the batter in a prepared pan. Arrange apples over the top. Sprinkle half of the topping mixture over the apples. Spread the remaining batter over the top, covering the apples as best as possible. Sprinkle with the remaining topping mixture.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the cake springs back when lightly touched. Serve warm or cold.
